WoodsEdge Mckenzie

Peruvian Solitaire

Purchased from WoodsEdge, “McKenzie” was one of their show girls.  McKenzie carried on her sire’s winning traditions all the way to purple! She was Champion at her first and only show – The Western Ohio Triple Crown, and then went on to place in the Top Ten at the 2003 ALSA Nationals.

McKenzie is bred to Peruvian Solitaire, a WoodsEdge third generation suri whose first crias are exceptional with a very narrow, tightly-twisted lock and brilliant luster. McKenzie arrived on 10/2/07 with “MacGyver” her four month old, rich brown Peruvian Kwanzaa male at side.

ILR#  262159

Sire:    Movin On
Dam: Shangrila's Chablais

Bred t0:  Power Spike

Shangrila's  Ashley

Service Sire: Power Spike

Ashley's grandfather Fancy Creek Hobbes, is also a beautiful silver appy.  Her father Movin On is one of the last Chilean Leroy Brown sons with strong appy genes.  Her grandmother on her mother's side has had many appy babies including Power Spike's first appy baby.  So we are expecting some spectacular appaloosa babies from Ashley.  But the best thing about Ashley is her personality.  She extremely calm and sweet even while pregnant.  You can hug her and even brush her off lead.  Her mother and siblings are exactly the same so it should come through in the genes.  We'll see this coming Spring 2008.

Sire:    Movin On
Dam: Arial

Bred t0:  Boogie Knight

Shangrila's Bonnie Lass

Service Sire: Boogie Knight

Bonnie is a striking Movin On daughter out of Ariel, a white and silver paint.  Even though she is light wooled her fiber is very soft and shiny.  She has excellent confirmation.  Bonnie did great at Virginia Classic as a juvenile.  She won her class and received third of the Top Five.  She is very affectionate and easy to handle.  She is bred to Boogie Knight for a Spring 2008 baby.  Her first baby from Spring 2007 is a beautiful silky black boy with white front feet that look like spats with her gorgeous curved ears..

MCFL Miriah

Sire:    Taj Mahal of Tunitas
Dam: Miriah’s Maderian Mocha

MCFL Miriah

Sire: Taj Mahal of Tunitas

“Miriah” is a beautiful tuxedo pattern llama youngster with a fantastic outgoing temperament.  Cindy Ruckman from McFarland Llama Farm sent me her photograph shortly after she was born and it was love at first site!  I have been a black and white fan in Shetland Sheepdogs for years and so the natural progression was adding a gorgeous monochromatic young lady to our herd and an opportunity that we just couldn’t resist.

Miriah is light wool, classic llama that will hopefully bring us into the world of show llamas.  We have high hopes for the future with this one.  Miriah arrived at our farm in March of 2007 with her mother Mocha and a repeat breeding to Taj Mahal also on board.

Miriah's Maderian Mocha

Sire: Peruvian Madero B1006
Dam
: Timberwind’s Miriah

Bred t0:  GLL Albacore

Miriah's Maderian Mocha

Service Sire: GLL Albacore

Mocha came to us from McFarland’s Llamas in Ohio.  We selected her because of her lineage, easy birthing and experience as a mother since she was going to be our first birth here at Aurora.  Well she definitely challenged me with haltering but on some expert advice from Cindy Ruckman I managed to lasso her on a regular basis.  She tolerates me now and must have thought I was a lunatic then!  Mocha didn’t disappoint and delivered her female cria we called Latte unaided and as a surprise to our farm help and me over 25 days “late”.  Mocha is bred to the impressive GLL Albacore (Tuna Fish x Maureen O'Toole) of Spruce Lane Llamas for a summer 2008 cria.

Sire:    Taj Mahal of Tunitas
Dam:   Miriah’s Maderian Mocha

MCFL Mocha Latte

Sire: Taj Mahal of Tunitas

Latte was the first cria born  at Aurora.  She was named after her Mom and for the “foam” on her chin.  She is actually a full sister to our Miriah sired by McFarland’s Llama Farm - Taj Mahal of Tunitas.   Latte is an intense brown silky girl possessing that tall stretchy style and confidence.  We hope Latte is a promising show prospect for 2008!
